Grade Level Themes

Do you have specific Visual Art themes that help navigate each grade levels curriculum? I am interested in designing something of the such for my K-5 Art scope and sequence. Each year would celebrate a concept and build on the prior knowledge which would work up to discovering one's identity via the arts in grade 5...

In our district all of the art teachers got together and created a YAG (year at a glance) I teach at the elementary level so for each grade level they gave us suggested materials that should be used, authors/books, and also three artists. It's very helpful.
