Parents and grades at the elementary level

We use O, S, N, I, and U for specials grades with most students receiving a Satisfactory. Our new online grading system automatically assigns a percent, which has caused parents some confusion and concern over grades when they see a percent in the high 80's. Any ideas on the best way to reassure the parents?
