Hi all:) This is my first time teaching art on a cart. I have K-8 for 30 minutes each on a rotating schedule (which is too confusing to explain now). Do any of you ever teach the same lesson to different grades? Like maybe K and 1st occasionally work on the same lesson, or 4th and 5th.

I have a student undergoing intense chemo and won't be at school the rest ofthe year. He'll be well enough about 1 week out of every 3 to do school work. The counselor asked me to come up with a curriculum that he could do at home to assist with fine motor skills and creative expression. Any advice would be great!

I wanted to start using some articles about artists for students to read about to help expand a lesson.

Do you keep everything you made or selective art work indicating experience/exposure to mediums, techniques and subject? And do you as a 6th grade middle school art teacher "expect" a portfolio?

Good news: I argued for and received permission for all art teachers in my district to skip school mandated inservices for the year and instead meet as a department to do our own literacy training for a CEU in literacy. The subject will be reading and developing lessons based on the Caldecott picture books.
