Students draw a portrait of their favorite teacher.

THE PLAN
4 sessions; 45 minutes per session

1. SWBAT to draw facial features in proportion.
2. SWBAT to create a balanced composition.

1. pencils
2. markers
3. Oil pastels
4. tempera paint
5. Acrylic paint
6. magazines
7. glue
8. scissors

1. Discuss with students people and events that help shape their lives.
2. Talk about teachers in the school who the students feel are influential.
3. Review facial proportions.
4. Students chose a teacher to create in their choice of medium.

Student will make observations while students are working. Students will receive verbal feedback about their work and progress.
Students will be graded with a rubric.

This is a great lesson to do at the end of the year!
