Personal Symbols Mandala

Students use at least five person symbols in creating their own mandala with rotational symmetry.

THE PLAN
4 sessions; 50 minutes per session

SWBAT use personal symbols to represent themselves in an abstract way.
SWBAT use rotational symmetry, but identify the four types of symmetry.
SWBAT create a key or legend so others can "read" their mandala.
SWBAT use self reflection in the process of creating a mandala.

1.Paper, white or black cut into squares (at least 10 inches)
2. Colored pencils
3. Oil pastels
4. Chalk pastels
5. Pencils and erasers
6. Markers
