THE PLAN
Students can identify and draw a landscape.
Students understand a panorama/panoramic is a wide-angled view.
Students learn how to use glue and sand to add color to their art as well as plan and organize how they will add their color so as not to mix/ruin their sand colors.
pencils and erasers

q-tips
a variety of colored sand
1. Introduce lesson with a powerpoint that has examples of a variety of landscapes and panoramic views.
2. Demonstrate how to draw a simple landscape. Make sure students do not add too many small detail as is difficult to add sand in smaller areas.
3. Demonstrate how to outline and spread glue around with a q-tip (paintbrushes can work also but I hate to wash them). Sprinke sand, shake off.
4. Make sure students plan how they will add their color. Apply glue everywhere you want one color. For instance, do all your blue areas first, then do all the areas you want red, etc... Make sure students know to do one color at a time so as not mix the sand on their paper or in the trays. Discourage gluing 2 different colors next to each other as you do not want the sand to mix colors while the glue is wet. The following class when the sand has dried they can sand to the other areas.
