THE PLAN
9 sessions; 45 minutes per session

SWBAT apply balance through the use of color, space and texture to create a visually interesting collage (VA-CE-H3).
SWBAT create a work of art using a collection of images found in everyday life (VA-AP-H2).
SWBAT compare how many different approaches can be taken to meet the same criteria (VA-HP-H3).
SWBAT critique artwork of themselves and classmates (VA-CA-H4).

1. Search for interesting objects meeting the requirements* and cut out.
2. Arrange and position objects on paper/poster board and glue down.
3. Using a sharpie and transparency paper (cut in half) create a 6x6 inch grid (one inch squares) and tape over an interesting part of collage.
4. Create a 12x12 inch grid (two inch squares) on multimedia paper.
5. Use the grids to draw the section of the collage onto the larger paper while maintaining proportions.
6. Use acrylic and/or watercolor to paint the drawing.

Success is dependent on student's ability to follow directions.
Work will be judged on craftsmanship, neatness, and willingness to do best work.
Students must fill their poster board with pieces meeting all the (attached) requirements. These can easily vary each time.

I do another mosaic collage project which I discuss Derek Gores and Samuel Price- They could both be included in this assignment as well.
