Graphic Design: Logo Design

After learning about the basics of graphic design, students use their knowledge of the principles of design, text, and imagery to develop a logo, letterhead, and business card for a Startup company of their choosing.

SWBAT define and identify a demographic or audience.
SWBAT use text as an effective tool in relaying visual information.
SWBAT use computer software to generate a logo, letterhead, and business card.

Computer access and programs (We used open source programs such as Inkscape and Gimp)
Color printer
x-acto knives
metal rulers
self healing cutting mats
rubber cement

1. fill out brainstorming worksheet.
2. scan finalized logo
3. use scan to help develop logo on Inkscape or Gimp (OR illustrator/photoshop)
4. After logo, create letter head and business card that include all necessary informaiton
5. print all out
6. cut and glue to a black sheet of paper for display.
