In this lesson, students research an artist of their choice, write a paper about that artist, and then recreate the "Mona Lisa" in the style of their artist.

THE PLAN
8 sessions; 45 minutes per session

SWBAT research information about an artist of their choice and write a paper about them.
SWBAT create what they think the "Mona Lisa" would have looked like if their artist created her.

Access to technology including computers and internet
Variety of art supplies students can use to create their artwork (this will be different for each student)

1. Students pick an artist from a list/PowerPoint provided to them OR one that they are familiar with.
2. Spend 3 days researching and typing information on their artist
3. Spend 5 days recreating the "Mona Lisa" in the style of their artist
