Color Circles

Students will get a refresher on color theory using circles while also creating a work of art in the process.

THE PLAN
1 session; 70 minutes per session

1. SWBAT get a refresher on color theory while also making a piece of art.

1. Markers (red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, green and black)

2. White paper

3. Compass

4. Pencil

5. Ruler

1. Using a compass draw 3 circles on your paper. Make a part of each circle overlap the other two. Each circle will represent the 3 primary colors.

2. The sections where the circles overlap will represent the 3 secondary colors and the center where all 3 circles meet will represent the color black.

3. Lightly draw a pattern across your circles. This can be anything: stripes, polka dots or even flowers.

4. Fill in each section with their designated color.

Students will be assessed based on how well they follow the directions.

A "new" project for a "old" lesson.

This project does not have to be completed using markers. Color pencils or watercolors work just fine.
