New Year's Resolution Watercolor Resist

"Lets bring in the new year with resolutions and words of encouragement for our fellow classmates." That is what this project is all about. Combining typography and watercolor resist students will create a simple and easy piece of art to start the year off.

THE PLAN
1. SWBAT create artwork using typography and watercolor.

1. Paper strong enough to handle watercolor

2. Watercolor paint

3. Brushes

4. Cup of water

5. Paper towels to clean off brushes

6. Crayons

1. Think about what it is you're trying to say. Once you have that figured out lightly in pencil write your resolution/quote. If students are working some small sheets of paper, keep it short and simple.

2. In crayon go over the letters. The harder you press down the better the watercolor resist will work.

3. Next go over the crayon with watercolor. Let dry.
