Aerial Abstracts

Using aerial maps from the internet and a few art supplies students will make abstract map art.

THE PLAN
1. SWBAT create abstract artwork form aerial maps.

1. Black construction paper

2. White charcoal pencil

3. Watercolor paint and/or colored pencils

4. Paint brushes

5. Copy of an aerial map from the internet

6. Ink pen

Need these materials? Visit Blick!

1. Using the internet find and print out a copy of an aerial map.

2. Lay your copy on top of the construction paper and heavily trace out the features of the map with a ink pen.

3. Cover the whole sheet of construction paper with a white charcoal pencil revealing debossed lines.

4. Using watercolor paints and colored pencils color inside the debossed shapes.
