High [9th-12th] Lesson Plan

Draw Around the Room

Created on October 23, 2018 by KatieMorris

Draw Around the Room is a good way to introduce your students to a variety of media and processes so they can understand the options and choose what they want to use later. *Inspired by Cynthia Gaub's activity!

Before class place the informational handouts and necessary materials at each table.
1. Introduction
-Explain that the students will rotate to each table and complete the activity there to try out the drawing medium as research
-Divide students into groups
-Give students Draw Around the Room note sheets
2.Rotations
-Figure out how much time students will have at each table and tell them when and which direction to rotate. Repeat until they have completed all.
3. Reflection
-Students jot down some notes about each medium on the note sheet and staple their "research" to the note sheet.

This was part of the drawing boot camp in my TAB classroom. We followed it up with a choice drawing.
