Dandy Dandelions

Students will use q-tips to make dandelion paintings.

THE PLAN
1 session; 40 minutes per session

1. SWBAT make dandelion paintings using q-tips.

1. Paper (any color)

2. Q-tips

3. Acrylic paint

4. Paper plate or paint palette

5. Rubber bands

6. Small paint brush if necessary

1. Select the colors you plan to use and place them on your palette. (choose between 1 to 5 colors)

2. Lightly in pencil draw a few circles on your paper. (they can be different sizes)

3. Gather a few q-tips and bundle them together with a rubber band. Dip them in the paint and begin dabbing paint inside the circle. Do one color at a time. Giving each color time to dry before moving on to the next. Make the dandelion look like it's blowing away dab some paint outside of the circle.

4. Next with a q-tip or a small brush paint stems for your dandelions.
