Elementary [1st-5th] Lesson Plan

Henna Hand (linked to the book Purple, Green and Yellow)

Created on March 25, 2012 by imagiNATION

This is a series of lessons that explore art on the body. We read the book Purple, Green and Yellow by Robert Munsch and discussed the tradition of henna before creating our own patterns on our "hands." I did this with 2nd graders.

This lesson could be done in a much shorter time-frame if desired. We were working on creating the habit of practice and learning to peer critique/edit our designs so I stretched it a bit to include those skills.
