Elementary [1st-5th] Lesson Plan

Greek Isles Architecture: Mykonos and Santorini

Created on March 27, 2012 by lightARTed

Students learned about the architecture of Mykonos and Santorini. These Greek Islands are recognized by the stark white buildings with splashes of red and blue color on the roofs, windows, and doorways. Houses were built very close together as protection from pirates and the strong wind. Buildings were painted white to keep cool from the high temperatures of summer. Students used watercolor pencils to create their Cycladic Island paintings.
