Art History Trees

Created on August 02, 2012 by KatieMorris

This is a collection of tree images from Art History. I wanted to show the students a wide variety so they would see how many different ways there are to represent the same object. I tried to show variety in artist, style, time period, and media. I used this with 1st grade but since it's just images, it could be used for any level.

awesome resource! I'm excited...I will have a projector this year!

I love my projectors. They are getting smart boards for one grade level at a time so I'll be the last to get one since I'm split between 2 buildings. They'll probably have moved on to some new technology by then.

This is wonderful. I'm still trying to get some of my students to see that trees aren't just brown lines! I am definitely showing this.

Great resource, I'm so hopeful that this will inspire students to use colors other than green and brown. In my middle school art class, even some of the advanced draftsmen can't seem to get past an elementary concept of tree forms.

May use in a lesson on "Line" to discuss line type, variety, quality, etc.

So awesome! Thank you! I do a negative space lesson on trees with my 4th graders. This is a perfect collection to share with them.
