Based on work by Timur Akhmetov, a twist on the concept of "Self Portraiture". Students empty their pockets or purses onto a scanner, add their face or hand, and click "SCAN"...

THE PLAN
1 session; 15 minutes per session

1.SWBAT express themselves through objects which are essential to them on a daily basis
2.SWBAT work a scanner

1. Scanner
2. Personal Items
3. Computer
4. Printer (optional)

Need these materials? Visit Blick!

1. Procure 6 or more items which the student has with them on a daily basis and student finds both important and reflective/expressive of themselves
2. Arrange items face-down on scanner
3. Add face or hand
4. Click "SCAN" (or work in pairs so that partner can click SCAN if student's face is down on scanner)


GREAT for a "Getting to Know You" activity at the beginning of the year/semester! Students LOVE it, year after year!
