*** Students have already completed creation of basic pinch pots and have been wedging clay ***

Size -- no more than 5" in any direction

Class Period 1 & Homework
1. Students to see presentation on Monster Project as inspiration and introduction to project -- also spend time discussing ideas -- possible fears, expressions, etc.
2. Students to complete handout on Monster Project, drawing examples as listed.

Class Period 2
3. Students to have demo on slip & score technique
4. Students to work on creation of Pinch Pot Monster -- making sure to properly spray and wrap project at the end of each class period.

---> Use other half of class period 4 to introduce next project & give drawing/research homework
-------------------------------------------
When dry "scrubbie" pieces so that they are clean and smooth if desired. (15-20 minutes)
------------------------------------------
Periods 5 & 6

Students know about glazes and the pouring method and brushing method from previous projects -- if not, will need to be demo'd and taught here.

Glazing project using provided glazes (I used gloss, matte, and teachers choice glazes + clear over top if needed/wanted)
------------------------------------------
Class period 7 -- Hand in with completed rubric & questions, thumbnail drawings, and any other research.

A few of my students struggled with finding an idea and getting started, but once they started....they seemed to really enjoy this project!
