Middle [6th-8th] Syllabus

Student "Target" Checklist

Created on April 10, 2013 by artclasswithlmj

This example is from 7th grade but it clearly defines the checkpoints we meet throughout the trimester together - students are able to keep track of their progress by checking off each step. If they miss a step, they know when to meet with me and if they don't meet a step completely, they can clearly see where their work can be improved. It also keeps both myself and the student accountable. The sheet is handed out in the beginning of a term so that there is a transparent environment created for students to be aware and informed.

    Great idea.
We have to create daily learning targets. These targets are what they are doing or learning each day. No target can last longer than a few days. What you are doing is putting the project learning objectives in a check off form. I like that it makes them accountable and it gives them something to refer to. How many lessons do you usually get through in a trimester? I have 7th for a quarter and 8th all year long.
