A great way to use up some of that leftover (or stocked up on!) Easter grass!

THE PLAN
3 sessions; 40 minutes per session

1. SWBAT identify the characteristics of Claes Oldensburg's artwork.
2. SWBAT define pop art.
3. SWBAT use a variety of materials correctly.

1. Glue
2. Tag board
3. Scissors
4. Collage materials (construction paper, foam, Easter grass, felt, etc.)
5. Large butcher paper with pre-drawn large circle "pizza" drawn.

Need these materials? Visit Blick!

Day 1: Introduce Claes Oldensburg. As a class, come up with the different toppings that could be on a pizza. As students come up with them, write them on the side and then have the students draw and color the toppings on the circle to make a class pizza.

Day 2: Have students draw and make their crust. Cut out and glue to tag board. Paint on red sauce and then glue on white and yellow Easter grass for cheese.

Day 3: Add other ingredients (at least 3 ingredients, 5 of each ingredient on pizza).

I did this with 2nd grade and they loved it! The hard part is getting the Easter grass to stay glued down...it takes a lot of glue!
