X-Actos Knifes in Middle School

I have seen some amazing art from other middle schools used x-actos to create them. I am a bit nervous about letting my middle school kids use them. Anyone with experience with this? Safety, management, etc? Tips,certain type I should buy?

Only 1-3 kids at a time. Write their name down on a sign out list. Use cardboard underneath to protect table. Grill and drill them before letting go of the knife.
