When I click on any of the downloadable files it always downloads them as a zipped file. Why does this happen if I can see that it is a .doc, .docx or .pptx on the website, and I know it was not compressed to upload because I am trying to download one of my own resources?

I can't download an extraction program because it is a work computer and I don't have the privileges.

Am I doing something wrong, does anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

Its any resource (.doc, .docx or .pptx). But I only noticed it was a problem when I tried to get my own off the site and I knew I didnt zip the file.

I am using Internet Expolorer 8.
I was just more wondering if it is a me problem or if others were running into the issue too! If its me, Ill get some tech support here. :)

Unfortunately, it looks like this is a problem with Internet Explorer (most people recommend using a different browser). Found this forum as a starter:

I have a similar problem. When I first added my files to my project, Beginning Glass Fusing in the Microwave, http://www.thesmartteacher.com/exchange/resource/297/Beginning-Glass-Fusing-in-the-Microwave, I could open them.
Now, I can't. Does anyone else have this problem? I don't know what happened to my files and I've tried to open them on 3 different browsers.
