Any art teachers who teach at camp or summer school? I would love to hear your ideas for projects.

I have worked summer art camps for about 6 years and have done things things like glass painting, ceramics, cartooning, photography, art around the world, printmaking, puppet making, wire & metal, sculpture, jewelry, mask making, book making, canvas painting, textile arts such as weaving, silk painting, tie-dye, etc...

The sky is limit, (depending on funding of course!)
feel free to email me if you need some examples at chulsey@richland2.org

    Good luck!

I teach at two camps--one at the beginning and one at the end of summer. We've done under the sea, famous artist week, animal planet and green space themes.

Last year was my first year--it was an enjoyable experience. Feel free to email me at tonimakesart@gmail.com for more info.

I teach at a community college that offers kids classes over the summer in art and almost anything you can think of. I have 2-3 hour classes that are 4-5 days long. This summer I'm teaching classes on duct tape projects, a messy art class, a class where we make worry dolls and friendship bracelets, and a new class I designed on Japanese art. That is just naming a few.

I taught ceramics for two summers in one camp. Right now, I'm looking forward to teaching arts and crafts at a sleep away camp. I covered different hand building projects in ceramics such as masks, tiles, mugs etc. My challenge right now is to find engaging art projects that give as little anxiety as possible while not making it look to "campy." I would love to hear your ideas.

I am building a summer art program this summer and will appreciate any organizational/business advice that you have to share. Camp on the Sun Porch will offer art instruction, swimming and athletics to children ages 5-12. Each week culminates with an art exhibition of student work.

I had the kids look for objects in nature ie, pine needles and bring them inside to dip in india ink inorder to experiment with line and texture. Then use these found objects as tools to create a design.
