I help my students prepare their college portfolios that include nude drawings or paintings completed in classes outside of school. Does anyone else allow students to bring in (or even create) nude figure drawings/paintings for their college portfolios? If so, does your administration know? Do you have a policy on it?

How do you label your supplies so they don't walk away from your classroom (via students or other art teachers)? I'm a neat freak, so I don't really like the huge masking tape flags on the end of my stuff... but sharpie obviously doesn't work for everything. Advice appreciated!

The problem: students placed in HS Art 1 for their "art elective", lacking intrinsic motivation, little self discipline and the curiousity gene was killed off several years back. HOW to inspire, motivate? What to do with the "checked out" so, they might...dare I say...change their attitude and behaviors. Ideas? Please!

Question for those of you teaching middle school art or acrylic painting...what brand of paint do you buy thats inexpensive? I'm basically starting from the ground up and am willing to invest in a bulk supply, but not willing to over spend. Best brand, best vendor, best quality...any information you can give!

Really stuck trying to pick a topic for my graduate action research topic. I'm leaning toward assessment focus or art/literacy focus. I would like to hear what others focused on or other ideas. I want to make sure it holds my interest(not the easiest for this popcorn brain) & benefit my teaching. TIA!!!

Hi all - I am in need of an excellent quality mechanical sharpener that will last more than a year. I have around $100 to spend - I've burned out 2 X-acto Powerhouse sharpeners this year, and all Boston models that I have tried overheat within 10 minutes. Any suggestions for a long lasting, quick, quiet sharpener?
