The Venus Negativity Trap

Students will create a drawing of a Venus fly trap, but instead of eating flies it eats negative words, feelings, etc. Then there will be a discussion on how students can help make things better not just for themselves, but also the people around them.

THE PLAN
2 sessions; 20 minutes per session

1. SWBAT drawing create a drawing of a a Venus fly trap eating things that students find to be negative.

2. SWBAT have a discussion with the class about the words chosen and ways to make things better.

1. 11"x14" sheet of drawing paper or poster board.

2. A pencil to draw with.

3. Colored pencils, crayons, and markers.

1. Draw a Venus fly trap and words of things you feel are negative. (example: Racism, Hate, Homelessness)

2. Color your drawing.

3. The class will then discuss ways to turn those negatives into positives.
