THE PLAN
1 session; 50 minutes per session
1. SWBAT define warm colors and cool colors
2. SWBAT paint a watercolor picture of a sailboat using cool colors for the water and warm colors for the sky.
1. Examples of famous watercolor paintings of boats, seascapes (Van Gogh, Homer, others)as posters or in a powerpoint.

1. Students will draw a rough sketch of their proposed painting on sketch paper or in their sketchbook.
2. Students will lightly sketch their painting on the watercolor paper.
3. Students will paint their sailboat painting using warm and cool colors.
Students will self-assess using the art room rubric.
