THE PLAN
The art room serves over 550 boys and girls in grades K-6, in an urban public school setting. We meet once per week in a portable classroom. For the past 4 years, we did not have a room at all. I was on a cart to the 23 classrooms. We were lucky to get a room last year, but gave it up when our school had a fire and a classroom was destroyed. We were able to move back in this year. The ceiling leaks at times, and the furnace sometimes smells moldy, but we are so happy to just have a studio environment to create in!
