Lichtenstein Pop Art Panels

Students will create Roy Lichtenstein inspired comic panels.

THE PLAN
3 sessions; 40 minutes per session

1. SWBAT learn about the artist Roy Lichtenstein.

2. SWBAT create Lichtenstein inspired
pop art panel artwork.

1. White Paper (watercolor, bristol board, or thick drawing paper)

2. Paint brush

3. Black ink (waterproof)

4. Watercolor

5. Pencil with a eraser on it.

1. Think of a subject to draw. It can be a person(s), place or thing. Use reference photos if you have to.

2. Create 3 panels on your sheet of paper with a pencil. In each panel draw an image that has a connection to each other. Your panels can be side by side, overlapping, or at an angle. The choice is up to you.

3. Using a paint brush go over your lines with ink. To add dots or texture to your drawing dip the end of an eraser in ink to place a few dots in certain areas of the draw. Let dry.

4. When the drawing is dry start coloring it with watercolor paint. Use solid colors to fill in your picture.
