Teacher introduces Georgia O'Keefe and discusses her history while showing examples of her artworks with a focus on her flower paintings.

Teacher demonstrates how to draw different types of flowers

Students practice drawing flowers from photos or from life.

Students transfer their best drawing to black paper.

Teacher demonstrates how to use oil pastels and students practice.

Students color their flowers with oil pastels.

Did students use oil pastels to create the flowers? Did students blend different colors together to make gradated values?

Many examples of this lesson also use liquid glue to outline the flowers before coloring. I did not have liquid glue and, truthfully, I think they benefitted from not having the glue added.
