Ink Blot Drawings

After placing drops of colored ink on a sheet of paper students will draw what they see using a black ink pen.

THE PLAN
1 session; 60 minutes per session

1. SWBAT create drawings using inkblots.

1. Drawing paper

2. Black ink pen

3. Bottles of colored inks

4. Droppers (if colored inks doesn't come with any)

5. Drinking straw (optional)

1. Put a few drops of colored ink on your paper, the lighter the colors the better. Moving the paper around while the ink is still wet will help it spread some more. You can also do this by blowing into a straw.

2. Once the ink has dried look at it. What do you see? Using a black ink pen draw the first thing you think of.

There is no wrong way to do this project. Another idea is to have each student draw on someone else's inkblot.
