High [9th-12th] Lesson Plan

Monochromatic Tiles installation

Created on February 27, 2022 by Jensen

Students created a monochromatic picture on a “tile” made from cardboard. All tiles were hung as an installation. Students were invited to design the installation as a contest. Student paints any type of painting they want on to the tile. Tiles are hung by the students as an installation for the school to view.

Instructions attached

The cardboard tile, any size, though we did 7x7” is first gessoed on both sides twice with overnight dry time in between each layer. The probability that the tile will remain flat is quite high if this step is done.
Student chooses an acrylic hue and creates a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 shades, tint, tones for his/her tile.
