Students will create a mixed media shoe drawing that demonstrates they understand how to create a limited range of value with graphite pencils and create a variety of patterns with sharpie markers.

THE PLAN
4 sessions; 60 minutes per session

Students will create a mixed media shoe drawing that demonstrates they understand how to create a limited range of value with graphite pencils and create a variety of patterns with sharpie markers.

Sharpie Markers
Graphite Pencils
Scissors
Glue
Construction Paper
Drawing Paper

-Students will draw an outline by observing the shoe they are wearing in class.

-Students will divide the shoe into three, four, or five uneven spaces using organic shapes.

-Students will determine which areas of their shoe drawing they want to apply graphite pencil to versus sharpie markers.

-Students will use an H, HB, 2B and 4B graphite pencils to build value and shading in the selected portions of their shoe.

-Students will determine a color scheme for their pattern work.
Students will use sharpie markers to create patterns on their shoe.

-Students will cut and attach their finished shoe to a piece of gray construction paper.

-Students will add pattern with sharpie marker to their gray construction paper to achieve visual unity in their artwork.
