Glow in the dark: Pufferfish

Students use glow in the dark paint and paper plates to create these adorable puffer fish for our school's glow in the dark art show.

THE PLAN
•Students learn about puffer fish.
•Students demonstrate proper scissor cutting skills.
•Students demonstrate how to make brush strokes and how to use and care for painting supplies.

Pencils, paper, paint, brushes, paper plates, glue, scissors

1.Introduce lesson with PowerPoint about puffer fish.
2.Show video about the puffer fish.
3.Students follow drawing video and lean how to draw a puffer fish.
4.Demonstrate how to paint, students choose one color to paint the top of their paper plate, they will switch seats when switching colors and paint their bottom half a different color.
5.Students may need to paint 2 coats.
6. Demonstrate scissor safety and how to cut and glue the pufferfish, it’s fins and eyes.
7.Paint dots.
