Students become familiar with the painting, The Old Guitarist, by Pablo Picasso as they solve the puzzle. There are three levels of difficulty so you can play this with different age groups. This is a great way to introduce Picasso or enhance student's learning with a few minutes remaining of class time.

THE PLAN
1 session; 15 minutes per session

This download is for an interactive whiteboard puzzle of the painting The Old Guitarist by Pablo Picasso. There are three levels of difficulty so you can play this game with everyone from Kindergarten through adults. I have a tutorial showing how to use the puzzle here: https://vimeo.com/48556168

The lesson was created using Mimio Studio which can be downloaded for free from their site: http://www.mimio.com/en-NA/Support/Downloads.aspx
Mimio Studio Notebook is available for both PCs and MACs. Download this software to play this game.

You can use any kind of interactive whiteboard with this game since it is the software that creates the interactivity.

View my tutorial to see how the puzzle is used:

I also show you how to make your own puzzle so you can have student work with any or all of the pieces you focus on in the art room.

Solve the puzzle.
Set a timer and challenge students to solve quickly.

This is not a "smartboard" only activity.
You can use this lesson without an interactive board.
You need to download the free software and give students a way to manipulate the game by passing around a wireless mouse or asking them to take turns at the computer, or playing one at a time in a computer lab situation.
