Outsider Art Storage

Created on June 11, 2013 by Hope200

This summer my art room has to move from a workable art room to a trailer that has been condemned, without storage and without water. These photos document my temporary outsider art storage inside my apartment and in my carport. I was told to pack up my stuff and given no options for storage at school site. Whoopie!

THE PLAN
These photos document my art supplies in storage at my carport and inside. I was told I had to move my art room but was given no where to store everything until the condemned trailer I am moving to, is restored. Whenever that will be is anyone's guess. Oh, by the way, it has no water and no storage. And I will be teaching 960 students per week in this shack.

It's been condemned! How is that going to happen?

Wow, I feel for you, having had to move my Art Room a couple of times. Thankfully my Principal had the understanding of just how much stuff an Art teacher has to have to run a seccessful art program. I had a place to store the supplies. And I had help from the custodians. Which leads me to think what would I have done if in your shoes. I would have told my principal that all of those supplies belonged to the county and that the county should store them, not me. Resource teachers need to stick up for themselves. Many already are looked upon as babysitters, have several schools with cRaZy schedules and hundreds of students. We shouldn't be expected to babysit art supplies while they get their house in order.
