A medley of signs and documents to start the year off in the middle school art room. Includes Inspiring Quotes, Parent Letter, Student Interview and more.

THE PLAN
1 session; 35 minutes per session

Welcome: Stand by the door and welcome each student individually. Send them to an assigned seat, alphabetically.
DO NOW: Tell me About You "worksheet"
ICEBREAKER: Interview your neighbor
CLASSROOM SIGNS:Inspirations and Expectations

Before taking their seat, students fill in 1 page worksheet, "Getting to Know You". After teacher welcomes class, there is an icebreaker where the students interview the student seated next to them using the questions from the "Getting to Know You" worksheet, and then introduces the student to their table group. Teacher passes out "Welcome Letter" for students to review in class, and at home with parents. Teacher reviews 4 simple expectations for a successful year in the art room. Students brainstorm and develop classroom rules.
