Early [PK-K] Supply List

Great Art Books!

Created on August 28, 2013 by Ms-Organized-Chaos

These books help create my literacy based art curriculum for early childhood classes. These stories inspire students with their imagery and unique story lines while teaching students core art content.

Great list! I love "the dot" someone just posted a whole lesson on it I might peruse. I also love Peter sis's illustrations, Madlenka is the book name, Swimmy by Leo Lionni, and Where the Wild things are for the 1st grade set. I'll keep sharing the books as I think of them

Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg is great for showing kids (and adults!) it's ok to make a mistake, and that, in fact, a "mistake" can be a jumping-off point for a brand new way of looking at things.

Thanks! Doing a Donors Choose project right now to get art books for my classroom!

Such a great resource! Anyone seen or have a list of picture books that support each element of art?
