High [9th-12th] Lesson Plan

Elements of Art Powerpoint

Created on October 15, 2013 by valerierrice

This a supplemental lesson to help teach the Elements of Art in coordination with a project focusing on the Elements of Art. There is power point used as an introduction to the Elements of Art. There is a hand out associated with the power point. It's a little redundant, but the students I serve have taught me that they do well with repetition. It also helps if students were absent when you did the power point because all of the information is there. There is also a Quiz and review for the quiz.

1. Go Through the Power Point eliciting discussion as you go.
2. Students fill out hand out as you work through the power point.
3. Students create their own examples of each Element of Art.

Students will be assessed by a their project they complete to their teachers choosing. Students will also be assessed using an quiz.

This has been the best way so far I have found to teach these. I chose to separate the Elements and Principles and focus on each one for two different projects. I know there might be better ways, but this has worked out better for me.
