A virtual learning idea that does not require any art supplies! Students build an inuksuk! (say it like this "i-NOOK-shook") An inuksuk is a structure made of stones piled on top of each other made by the Inuit tribes of Alaska. They were used by the Inuit as land markers or sign posts indicating danger or a good hunting place. An inuksuk in the shape of a person signifies safety, hope and friendship. Find some rocks outside and try to balance them so they do not fall down. Flat rocks work great! Keep the rocks small so they are not too heavy and watch your toes! No rocks in your yard? Try building one with play dough, Lego's or blocks!
