1. Introduce Facts and Fun with our friend turkey
- Shown as a PPT
2. Students will cut out their turkey using a stencil
- instructor makes the stencil, just a simple bowling pin shape
- (this helps speed up the process, my goal is not to make a realistic turkey but to make a creative costume and to get students problem solving)
3. Brainstorm ideas for a disguise
- Sketchbook time
- Students will create a list of ideas, I shoot for a list of ten
- Students then draw three thumbnail sketches on their top three choices
4. Once their design is approved the fun begins and students start to cut and collage the paper
5. Cutting out lots of shapes and measuring is important and students have to figure out how to make the clothes fit
5. This takes at least two class periods and I encourage them to add lots of details, the more details the better the costume and their turkey won't end up on the dinner table

Students are assessed on:
1. Whether the turkey contains all important characteristics such as: caruncle, wattle, feet, wings, beak, eyes
2. Student has created a unique costume to hide their turkey. It is easy to identify what the turkey is disguised as.
3. Multiple colors and layers of paper were used to create the cut and collage artwork.
