A Turkey Twist

Art is ... The Turkey Twist (A new twist on an old turkey) 1 Page Children of all ages love making the turkey from tracing their hand. This worksheet, adds a twist. This downloadable sheet is "The DIrections" only. Younger students will need teacher guidance. (You won't have to print this for students, unless you want copies for your older students who can work independently.

THE PLAN
1 session; 35 minutes per session

A New Twist on an Old Turkey
TSW be able to trace their own hand two different ways and follow directions.
TSW be able to create their own scene using their imagination.

1. Blank paper for every student
2. Drawing and Coloring Instruments

Directions 1-8.
This involves flipping the paper twice, so younger students will need help by marking the Top with a "T" and the Bottom with a "B."

Step 1: Trace your hand in lower left (on half the paper)
Step 2: Flip
Step 3. Trace only 4 fingers and palm in lower left.
Step 4. Flip
Step 5. Draw your turkey
Step 6: Make the top 4 fingers into "YOU"

Note on Step 7, students are to add their own creations for the farm or barnyard: tractor, wheelbarrow, dogs, cats, chickens, more turkeys, fences, tree, hay, corn...Let them be creative!

And don't forget Step 8, to SIGN their name!
