Single Letter Monogram

This is the last printmaking project I do with my Art I students. It allows them a lot of freedom in their design.

THE PLAN
8 sessions; 50 minutes per session

-Students will create a Single Monogram block on linoleum.
-Students will choose a letter and complete a planning worksheet.
-Students will use at least two different patterns in their Monogram.
-Final project will be presented as an edition of three, with the best print matted.

1. Intro project/show examples
2. Students complete planning worksheet
3. Once design is approved, students transfer design to easycut
4. Students carve block
5. Students work in pairs to print block
6. Students creat a mat from railroad board, sign and title work.

Students are graded with attached rubric
