I also do Elmer. I use Elmer with the pre-k and k. I use it to teach how to use glue. I use the tap-n-glue tops so even if students have expe rience with glue, they probably have not used this type of glue lid. One side of the paper is a grid. They use construction paper squares to fill in the patch work. The other side is an elephant. They use markers to color another elephant for The Elmer's Day parade. The elephants are cut out and attached to a a jumbo craft stick. When they are finished we have a parade. Elmer is with us all year. He is such a joker. Whenever I can't find things, it is an Elmer trick. The kids love him!
