Created on August 28, 2015 by Gailori

1.Small group discussion on a print of a stained glass window? What is this a picture of? What kind of building/structure do you think it is in? Why do you think that? (60seconds)
2. Whole class discussion
3. I can make a painting using color value and break the space uo to resemble stained glass.
4.PowerPoint presentation on stained glass. Discuss periods, structures and a little about how it was made.
5. For this lesson we used birds. You can use whatever subject you like. Demonstrate drawing a bird then painting it in with tints and shades of the colors you choose. You want to encourage them to use a lot of tints in this lesson.
6. When the paint is dry they will outline all the drawn and painted lines with black fabric paint. Tell them to break up any large spaces into smaller spaces by repeating lines or shapes creating rhythm in their art.
7 Depending on the size of the canvas or paper the amount of time spent on this lesson will differ.
