This is a lesson on how to rotoscope video frame as layers in Photoshop CC. Rotoscoping is a technique in animation in which the animator traces the images on the frame to get a faithful representation of the person or object moving. It was speculated that Walt Disney Studios used it when creating Snow White.

This is a lesson for 9th-12th grade, but can be done with lower grades with modification. Claymation is a stop motion animation technique that was used in old movies like King Kong to special effects. Students can work by themselves or with teams to create a claymation animation. Students need the stop motion studio that is FREE for both android or IOS.

Here is a photos of my classroom. I have assigned seats and have tables marked by a colored crayons. Made the crayons from a styrofoam cup and rolled a sheet of thick paper into a tube. Painted them. They are hanging by fishing line and paper clips.
